❦ KINDRED / HAVEN ✷ acts as a visual metaphor for the intricate connections between people and place, and the ways public artists can try to repair the disconnect that society has with its public spaces.
The piece was displayed as part of Manifesto! - an exhibition at Falmouth’s Love Park skatepark in April 2025, alongside 40 other creative manifestos from MA Fine Art and MA Illustration AP.
Beginning with a questionnaire sent to 9 Bristol/Falmouth based community initiatives in an effort to gauge their community engagement motivations, as well as to pinpoint any potential differences between rural/city dwellers, URBAN FAY then translated the responses into a window mural to reflect the two mirroring sides of creative community engagement: the interpersonal and the environmental.
As an added element to the piece, URBAN FAY facilitated an open air pavement drawing session that ran throughout the duration of the exhibition.
